Blog 2- Getting to know my client

The most daunting part of this initial planning stage for me is actually meeting the client for the first time. They are putting there full trust in you to create a home!

My client is no stranger to renovating properties, but they just lack a bit of confidence when it comes to adding some colour into the interior design. I think a lot of people go for safe options and decorate it in a way, that it’ll be a blank canvas for the next person to move into. Not all our interior tastes are the same but I do think it is important to get to know someone through their home. In my opinion, when you walk into a space, straight away you can identify something about that person.

The previous owner had left behind some antique furniture which would be a crime to throw away. The client wishes to incorporate some of this furniture in my future design proposals. The thing I am most excited about is the fact that the client wants to maintain as much character as possible within the flat.

Antique chest of drawers. Beautiful pattern in the Mahogany wood.
One of the many original door handles. Bring back art deco!
Traditional bay window in Master bedroom. Over the years, they have become more modern, I want to incorporate these back into a more traditional setting.
Livingroom cabinets. One of my most favourite features in the property. With a bit of attention these can be brought back to their former glory.
Original bathroom door. Frosted glass.
